Screens sunlight to slow plant growth and tints the water a natural blue.
Contract structure
Treatment is available per-visit or as a full-season contract. Season contracts typically run May 1 through September 30, on a 7- or 10-day check-and-treat schedule.
Pricing depends on the size of the water body and the estimated number of treatments needed. A consultation visit determines the right plan for your pond or lake.
White amur — biological control
White amur are an option for newer waters or those with under 20% pondweed cover at peak season. The fish browse down pondweed growth and consume some algae. Success depends on stocking enough fish and restocking every two to three years — roughly 5 to 10 per surface acre will control, but not eliminate, growth.
White amur are not effective as a primary algae solution. Algaecide treatment is still needed, and it must be done in partial sections — about one-third at a time — because large-scale algae treatment can kill the amur.
Where the goal is fully clearing docks, beaches, or other high-use areas, chemical control is the better choice.
An honest assessment
Ponds and lakes fill with sediment as they age, reducing both their beauty and their usefulness. Chemical treatment, dye, remedial fish stocking, and recirculators all work best while a water body retains sufficient depth and integrity.
We give a straight assessment. If a pond has aged past the point where treatment produces worthwhile results, we'll tell you — rather than sell you treatments that won't deliver.
